Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award
Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023
The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg because the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is presented yearly to an individual who has demonstrated distinctive dedication to improving the lives of children in our group.
Brian Houchins, a dedicated elementary school teacher and group volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s education and welfare. Over the previous ten years, his efforts have significantly impacted the lives of countless children in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives include establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops specializing in literacy and numeracy expertise for at-risk youth, and leading a profitable community-driven marketing campaign to upgrade native playgrounds, making certain secure and inclusive play spaces for all youngsters.
The award ceremony shall be held on January 15, 2024, at the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The event will characteristic speeches from local dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
